About Pa bwalo
What this site is, and how its articles are checked.
Pa bwalo is Chichewa for “at the gathering place”, the open ground where a village meets to talk things through. This site writes about development and public policy: why some countries turn plans into progress and others struggle to. It starts with Malawi.
How the articles are made
- Every fact links to its source, usually a government plan, budget, audit or statistics report.
- Figures are the newest available, with their year.
- Before publication, people who did not write the article check each claim against its source.
- The articles look at institutions and patterns across governments, not at individual politicians.
Corrections
Mistakes are fixed, and each correction is noted with its date at the end of the article. Typing errors are fixed without a note.
Who writes it
